You don't need to become fluent. You need to greet the neighbour, thank the driver, order a coffee (or a cheeky Bintang) and be understood. Each lesson is audio only: you listen, and you say the words out loud in the gaps, so you're speaking from the first minute. Put it on while you walk, drive or make dinner.
In Lesson 1 you'll learn
- How to say sir and ma'am (Pak and Bu), and why it matters in Bali
- Greetings for morning, day, afternoon and evening
- Thank you, you're welcome, excuse me, sorry, please
- Yes, no, and counting from one to ten
- How to order two coffees in a café, politely, in a real sentence
How it works
Every phrase is said slowly in Indonesian, explained in English, then said again in Indonesian. You get a pause to repeat it, then you hear it in a real sentence. Earlier phrases come back so they stick. We start with polite Indonesian, the safest choice for a new arrival.

Questions
Who is it for?
English-speaking adults, especially Australians and New Zealanders, who want practical, respectful, everyday Indonesian. Complete beginners are welcome.
Are the voices real people?
No. The voices are AI-generated: an Australian English narrator and Indonesian male and female voices. Every lesson says so at the start. AI voices can sometimes stress a word oddly, so if something sounds wrong, please tell us.
Is this Balinese?
No. It's Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia), the national language used everywhere in Bali. Balinese is a different language.
Do I need to read anything?
No. It's audio only, with nothing to memorise beforehand.
Is this legal, visa or medical advice?
No. It's a language lesson only. It isn't legal, immigration, visa or medical advice. The help-and-pharmacy lesson teaches phrases for asking for help. It doesn't tell you what to do in a medical situation.
